1. When was OACSF founded?
Ontario Association of Christian Schools Foundation was established in 2007 to provide support for Canadian Christian education.
2. What is the purpose of the OACSF?
Our purpose is to support Canadian Christian education. We do that in three particular ways
i. The development of Christian curriculum and classroom materials.
ii. Capital funding grants to Christian schools.
iii. Scholarships to provide professional development for teachers in the area of curriculum writing.
3. Why have a Foundation like the OACSF, aren't you duplicating what other organizations do?
There are several other types of foundations supporting Christian schools. Local foundations are specific to their local school. The Ontario Association of Christian Schools Foundation has a broader scope, our mandate is to support Canadian Christian education, particularly in Eastern Canada.
4. Who oversees the activities of the Foundation?
The Ontario Association of Christian Schools Foundation is governed by a board of directors made up of citizens who support the mission and vision of the Foundation.
5. How do you get on the Foundation board?
Like many charities the Ontatio Association of Christian Schools Foundation board uses a self perpetuating model. The OACS Foundation board solicits new members from time to time as current members retire or as the needs of the board demand.
